Does the alarm still fire when the app is closed?
Yes. As long as your phone is on and connected to the internet, the alarm will trigger even if Tubzer is not open.
My alarm is not going off — what should I check?
Run through this short checklist:
- Android 12 or higher required
- Enable "App overlay" permission for Tubzer
- Disable battery optimisation for Tubzer in system settings
The YouTube player showed an error. Why?
Tubzer uses the YouTube API. Age-restricted, private, or regionally blocked videos will not play. Stick to standard public videos for reliable results.
What is my Tubzer ID?
Your Tubzer ID is a unique identifier others use to send you alarm videos. Share it with friends so they can set your morning video remotely. A custom ID can be purchased; a random one is assigned for free.
Can I send a video to my own alarm?
Yes — just enter your own Tubzer ID in the Send field. Your next alarm will play the video you chose.
What is a User Alarm?
A User Alarm means your alarm video is set by someone else — or by yourself using your own ID. Your alarm always updates to the most recently sent video.
What is the Tubot AI Alarm?
Tubot uses AI to find YouTube videos based on your interests and wake-up ratings. Set a starting prompt like "calm jazz" or "tech news", rate the video each morning, and the AI narrows in on what works for you.
What are Tubot AI Credits?
Each AI-generated alarm suggestion uses a credit. A small free amount is included; additional credits are available as an in-app purchase to cover API costs.
Someone is sending me unwanted videos. What can I do?
You can get a new random ID for free by emailing support@tubzer.de with your current ID. Or purchase a new custom ID directly in the app. Either way, your old ID is deleted immediately.
The app says I am offline, but I am not.
A VPN can sometimes interfere with the app. Try disabling it, or avoid switching networks while the app is active.
If multiple people send me a video, which one plays?
Always the most recent one. Each new send overwrites the previous video. Tubot AI Alarms are not affected.
